Integration & Migration

The phrase “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” applies here, right?

The answer to this question is… it depends. The most generous answer I can provide is – how long does it take you to create a new client or perform a simple task that requires both systems? If it takes more than 5 seconds, consider the stacking effect – how many people do this on a daily basis? Lets then multiply that out and come to a daily amount of seconds they “use” to enter this simple data.

Now, take into account how many times they do it daily – multiply that out. Take that and multiply it by 7, then divide it by 60. Here’s a real life example:

It takes John 17 seconds to create a new customer initially. John and Sally both create customers 6 times a day. That’s 102 seconds. Not bad, under two minutes a day. Now, as we look at the scale, weekly it’s 714 seconds. That’s just about 12 minutes. That’s nearly a full break period. Monthly? 47 1/2 minutes. Yearly, your team is wasting 571 minutes – that’s 9 1/2 hours a year that you’ll never get back.

That’s the benefit of integration & migration.
